What exactly is a Circulation, Accessibility, and Parking Study (CAPS)?
What does this study mean for Village and Town Residents?
For many years there has been much talk on the revitalization of the Village of Macedon. There is a shop list of known issues that have been identified by groups such as: Village Planning Board, Macedon Community Revitalization Partnership, Village Merchants, Residents and Village Board of Trustees.
Even though many of the issues have been identified, attempts to get funding or grants to correct the issue have been hampered by a mired of catch 22's.
It boils down to this: the powers that give the approval for funding for grants are looking for a "Professional Plan" on what we want the community to look like and how we want our community to grow in the future.
The "CAPS" Grant truly is the answer to many prayers.
The study will generate formal recommendations to assisting updating the following: Village Master Plan, Local Zoning Code, Land Use Regulations and Street Scape.
This CAPS grant is not to buy a plan in a can. The purpose is to make feasible recommendations taking into consideration of local assets combined with general community goals and expectations.
We are looking for as much community input as possible!
Please look through the information for more in depth info on each part of this study and the progress that has been made. Be on the lookout for public meeting and questionnaires.
